Surrey, B.C. – In the spirit of the holidays, Dee Soriano treated her clients to the film Jumanji at Landmark Cinema and gave them an opportunity to make a real and direct difference in the lives of children in need. Dee asked her clients to bring toys and clothes for the families who rely on the Vancouver & Lower Mainland Multicultural Family Support Services Society (VLMFSS). This organization focuses on assisting women and children who are struggling with domestic violence.
“I have worked with a few families in similar situations, so the cause is very dear to me: empowering women to save themselves and their children,” says Dee, a REALTOR® with Sutton - Premier Realty. “As a strong woman, I believe in this cause so much.”
Representatives from the charity were thrilled at the generous contribution when they saw Dee’s car piled high with toys, gifts, clothing and even cash donations.
This is her second project for this cause. When a former client, who works for VLMFSS, let Dee know about a food drive in September, she gladly donated boxes of health bars.
As the holidays were approaching, Dee wanted to get involved again. She knew that food banks are well supported during the holidays, but smaller grassroots organizations also needed help, so she decided to add a charitable twist to her client appreciation event.
The result was heart-warming for everyone.
“The Multicultural Family Support Services Society’s mission is ‘Let’s Work Together to End Family Violence.’ I believe in their mission and want to make a difference even in a small way.”
