Toronto, ON – Applying their extensive experience in home staging and design, REALTORS® Rayissa Palmer and Sandy Bodnar donated and decorated a Christmas tree for the Celebration of Trees spectacular at the 21st Flato Home for the Holidays Gala. They worked late into the day on November 30 hanging lights and decorations to produce a beautiful holiday showpiece. The following evening at the Gala, their Christmas tree was among several auctioned off in support of Caledon Community Services.
Their tree, aptly titled “All the Glitters is Gold”, was purchased for donation to Peace Ranch, a mental health agency offering housing and rehabilitation programs on a 25-acre property.
“As part of our services, we professionally decorate Christmas trees for our clients,” says Rayissa. “This year, we were honoured to be invited to contribute to the Home for the Holidays. Caledon Community Services helps seniors live independently, operates a one-stop employment resource centre, and provides individuals and families in need with a range of services at a popular hub called the Exchange.”
Monty Laskin, CEO of Caledon Community Services, commends volunteers who decorated the trees. “There were hours upon hours of work: a labor of love…. Your efforts will be gracing a few very fortunate organizations and homes over the holidays. Proceeds from the trees will also ensure full and happy holiday celebrations in many homes, not to mention support for hundreds of families throughout 2019.”
Rayissa and Sandy were the only realty team at the fundraiser because they offer staging/design services. For many years, this charitable mother-daughter realty team have also donated to and promoted the Ron White Shoe Drive, which provides gently-used footwear to those who cannot afford proper business attire. They also support these annual events: the Mimico Food Bank Drive, the Mimico Party in the Park and St. Leo’s Spring Fling (with sponsorship of a bouncy castle for students).
