Heart Pumping, Crazy Big Ride

Updated: Dec 3, 2018

Victoria, B.C. – The numbers are in and the Big Bike ride in Victoria this summer raised more than $42,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. An enthusiastic team of 15 REALTORS® and staff from Sutton Group – West Coast Realty (Victoria) joined in the effort. They drew cheers and waves as their enormous, red bicycle traversed the streets of this lovely coastal city. Jenny Lu organized her team’s participation for a heart-warming cause: proceeds support critical heart disease and stroke research.

“It was a beautiful day and we were really happy to see there was a better office turnout compared to last year,” says Jenny. “We raised $1,092 this time through personal donations and contributions from family, friends and clients.”

The Sutton Group – West Coast Realty (Victoria) team were among 70,000 riders from

200 communities across Canada who raised millions of dollars for research into blood clot and heart attack prevention, gender-specific stroke treatments and more.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation invites individuals and teams to sign up early for 2019. Volunteers are also needed for event coordination and to steer the bikes. Riders and volunteers have a chance to win prizes, in addition to enjoying a unique experience.
