Mississauga, ON – The 3rd Annual Cliff Barron’s Great Pumpkin Giveaway was another success for Halloween enthusiasts and the United Way! Cliff purchased a load of 200 pumpkins weighing approximately 1,500 pounds and gave them away by donation on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Beaty Neighbourhood Park. Families stopped by to choose the perfect pumpkin for jack-o’-lanterns and pies, enjoy a scarecrow display and snap photos at the cut-out photo booth.
With public donations and a contribution from Cliff, the event raised $500 for the United Way of Halton & Hamilton. He had a wonderful time meeting neighbours and spending time with his volunteers, including his daughter Lizzy.
“Lizzy and I also planned to do face painting, but it was actually the coldest day of the fall and it was just too cold,” says Cliff.
“Everyone still had a good time and we had a lot of the local politicians stop by for photo ops as the next day was election day!”
Over the past three years, this REALTOR® has donated $1,500 to the United Way of Halton & Hamilton. Cliff’s annual Great Pumpkin Giveaway has become a favourite autumn tradition and he expects to host the event again next year.
He appreciates the cooperation of the town of Milton, which allows him to hold this special event in the suburban park.
All of the funds raised at the pumpkin giveaway are donated to United Way Halton & Hamilton. This money remains in local communities to bolster programs by dozens of non-profit organizations such as Food for Life, STRIDE employment services, the Canadian Mental Health Association and Literacy North.
